FREDERICTON, N.B. - Ignite Fredericton is pleased to partner with Progress Media Group (PMG) as a strategic partner of the Top 101 Growth Conference & Awards taking place on Wednesday, September 14th, 2016, as well as partner with Startup Canada for the Startup Canada Awards on the preceding day, September 13th.
Ignite pitched Fredericton as host city for these two high-profile events occurring during the week of the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival, as an added draw. Delegates will have the opportunity to attend the city’s iconic, cultural festival, which is the largest of its kind east of Montreal.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting Progress’s Top 101 event and the Startup Canada Awards, as this completely aligns with our vision of being the Startup / Entrepreneur Capital of Canada,” says Mayor of Fredericton, Mike O’Brien.
The Progress 101 event recognizes companies in Atlantic Canada that have made a significant contribution to our region’s economic growth. Each year, Progress pays tribute to those companies both at the event itself and in the pages of Progress magazine. In addition, the one-day event hosts leaders from the region, presents informative speakers and panels and offers valuable intelligence for businesses.
This year’s theme focuses on the past, present and future of Atlantic Canada’s business community. First, Progress will honour those companies who have made a difference over the last two decades. Then it will look at the present state of the region by examining one industry in particular – energy. Finally, it will look to the future with a panel discussion highlighting the strengths and opportunities of the Atlantic region.
“Progress magazine is now in its 23rd year of publication,” says Progress Editor, Tom Mason. “It is dedicated to a single goal: promoting the growth and success of the Atlantic Provinces. Our founder Neville Gilfoy envisioned the Progress 101 event as the ‘annual general meeting’ for the Atlantic Region. We intend to stay true to that vision, to build a forum for business leaders, policy makers and entrepreneurs to come together to establish relationships and formulate ideas.”
These premiere networking events will be attended by business, academic and government representatives. Attendees are encouraged to book their ASAP and register for both events:
Progress Media is also pleased to partner with Startup Canada as the official media partner for the annual Startup Canada Awards & Reception taking place for the first time in Fredericton on Tuesday, September 13th. In 2015, Fredericton swept five of nine awards in the Atlantic Division.
Progress Media’s Top 101 event is being sponsored in partnership with: the University of New Brunswick, Energie NB Power, Ignite Fredericton, Maritime Paper, New Brunswick Innovation Foundation, ONB Canada, Pattison Outdoor, Rogers Communications and Sandler Institute.
Startup Canada Awards are being sponsored and presented in partnership with Planet Hatch, Ignite Fredericton, and the Startup Task Force.
