For Immediate Release: September 7, 2016
FREDERICTON, N.B. - Fredericton receives honourable mention in Site Selection’s eighth annual Canada’s Best Locations awards and rankings.
In the September issue of Site Selection, the 2016 Canada’s Best Location rankings were based on April 2015 - March 2016 corporate end-user facility investment and job creation data, which is comprised of the publication’s proprietary Conway Projects Database, as well as the magazine’s own research. Opportunities NB ranks second in the Canadian Competitiveness Rankings, awarded annually to the top-performing provincial economic agency, based on project data, regional partnership, proactive and innovative programming, and quality data and Web tools and resources. Fredericton’s provincial counterpart, Moncton was named as one of Canada’s Best Locations in their rankings of Census Metropolitan Areas (Fredericton is a Census Agglomeration Area).
Fredericton’s honourable mention is not without precedence having recently secured top place in the 2016 KPMG Competitive Alternatives study of Canadian/American locales, as well as the #1 Micro-City in North America for populations under 100,000 in fDi Magazine’s American Cities of the Future (2014).
