Startup Fredericton Invites Communities to Participate in the Sixth Annual East Coast Startup Week

FREDERICTON, N.B. - Startup Fredericton would like to invite communities from across Atlantic Canada to take part in the sixth annual East Coast Startup Week, a collection of independently-run business events and activities, March 12 - 18, geared towards fueling the vast and ever-growing east coast startup scene.

Each year, organizations, SMEs, startups, government, and academia come together to host various events focused on connecting emerging and seasoned business owners with the tools needed to start and grow their venture into a sustainable business. Norm Couturier, serial entrepreneur and Startup Fredericton Chair, says “East Coast Startup Week is a great way to connect citizens and entrepreneurs with these events and programs by having the regions promote and host them in the same week, all in one calendar. It's like a startup festival where you can choose and attend what interests you, in the city of your choice.”

A regional calendar is populated with events from all corners of the atlantic provinces to showcase what the Maritimes have to offer. “East Coast Startup Week is meant to bring communities together and act as a joint celebration of entrepreneurialism,” said Tahlia Ferlatte, Events Committee Chair. “More importantly, this event is meant to provide an equal opportunity for entrepreneurs of all industries to learn, connect and grow.”

Relevant events that are scheduled to take place during East Coast Startup Week are also welcome on the shared regional calendar. “The events calendar was put in place to act as a one-stop-shop in finding available resources, and to act as a connector tool between emerging entrepreneurs and like-minded individuals, mentors, and potential investors. Entrepreneurship doesn’t have to be a road travelled alone - we’re here to help,” says Ferlatte.
