“Our approach is to build this office with New Brunswick talent,” says Gord Crawford, Vice President and Business Development at Rally Engineering. “These are people who grew up here, went to university here and pay taxes in New Brunswick.”

Rally is an Edmonton-based company that provides multi-discipline engineering, procurement, construction and management (EPCM) services to small to mid-sized brownfield projects for energy and resource. Rally has an office in Sarnia, Ontario and now here in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

“We were drawn to Fredericton by the talented people that we found in this industry,” Crawford says. “The quality of the New Brunswick grads from UNB is well-known in the Alberta industry.”

With low-cost connectivity, Knowledge Park’s IT infrastructure and “easy connection to UNB,” Fredericton -- aside from being a city that offers big-city amenities and small-town charm – gives Rally access to services and the ability to have high-quality interaction between its New Brunswick and Alberta offices, says Eric Boudreau, manager of the Fredericton office.

“For me, having the Rally office here is a tremendous opportunity. I get to do engineering in a new field not available before here in New Brunswick, and I get to go home at night. It’s just tremendous.”

Crawford says Ignite Fredericton has been “very helpful in moving this forward.”

“Connection into local industry is really key to us getting our name out,” he says.
